Wale: More About Nothing
Aug 2010 11

Hey everyone, yes I know its been way too long since we updated the site. We have been in the process of relocating and setting up our ATLANTA division, #lego! But anyways we’re back now and here with some new shit. Today we’re talking about…..nothing. Yeah, thats right @Wale recently dropped his sequel to the very successful Mix tape, “A Mixtape About Nothing” , which used sound bytes from “Sienfeld” the hit sitcom from the 90s. “More About Nothing” comes to us after the less than successful release of Wale’s first Album entitled “Attention:Deficit” which sold over 28,000 copies its first week and slowed from there due to problems of stores actually carrying the album. (actually when I went to buy his album in Arizona at FYE, they aint have it, smh) But none the less Wale is back stronger than ever with this one. The DMV native provided us with great versatile music that everyone could listen/relate to. For the few of you who lost confidence in Wale with his album, then this is what you need to listen to to fall in love all over again. Key tracks we think you should star are the following:

Track 11: Black & Gold feat. Sam Sparro

Track 3: The Soup

Track 6: The Numbers Won

Track 7: The Eyes Of The Tiger

Track 12: The Mannipulation

Track 19: The Cloud ft. Tiara Thomas

Track 20: The Power ft. Avery Storm

and last but not least, the classic that dropped months ago, Track 21: The Get Away ft. NE Groovers

Make sure you download this Mixtape, Wale has potential to be bigger than anything youve heard , bigger then Jay, Bigger then Wayne, bigger then Kanye; Wale is the true #1 Artist out at the moment and will maintain this title for years to come. Become a fan TODAY!

Frequent Flyer Mileage: Marky- Journey To Markyland EP Series
Jun 2010 13
So here we are again cool world, and here I am once again flying high over 10000 ft to another destination on my world tour.  If your keeping track I’ve been to iraq, UAE, Germany, the UK and a few places stateside.  I’m currently flying to Tucson,AZ to take care of some business, vibin out to Marky’s “Journey to Markyland” series. For y’all who haven’t been tracking Marky, he’s a studio 43 artist from Washington dc, currently a resident of PG county.  It has been an amazing transformation the last 2 years in Marky’s career, building his own company, 43ntourage to manage his career and then quietly dropping the Markyland series almost a year later.  The wait was well worth it though.  Listening to this mix tape series definitely displays the improvement and changes in Marky’s music, providing harder lyrics and a more planned out approach.  This ma’fucka actually cussin’ more frequently  as well! Gotta love it.  The thing that makes this series the best out of all the mixtapes is that the songs are easy for a listener to register upon first listen making it undoubtebly a recognizable sound guaranteed to have the listener singing it and remebering word for word. It’s funny because even I feel like I’m big shit (major) listening to this, like it’s the next best thing since drakes so far gone and the hype that followed it.  This is clearly an instant classic and will not be removed from my iPod any time soon.
Tracks to listen to:
  1. Victory lap
  2. Rasta monsta
  3. Silent beauty
  4. Arizona lemonade (funny this song came on as soon as I touced down in Arizona)
  5. over
  6. Ill get you ft. Classixx (my fave song out the whole series, shit makes your feel too damn good/hype)
  7. Louis squares
  8. Full clip
  9. Hello, good mornin’
  10. Last time
Well shit looks like your should pretty much listen to the whole thing! But my top 5 songs are Ill get you, last time, victory lap, rasta monsta and Louis squares. I give rest stop 1 and 2  a perfect score of 5
Make sure to download them and be on the lookout for rest stop 3.   Also make sure you leave a word or two as a comment letting mark Deffy what your thoughts are! Well, looks like it’s time to board the plane again, this time back to the DMV! Ill catch you cool cats laters. 2 up
FPDMV Presents: Go In Season V.1
Jun 2010 12

Today is a new era, a new generation of artist are flooding the music industry attempting to prove their abilities on the mic, and the way I see it, saving hip-hop. This proves true exspecially in our beloved DMV. For many years now our metro area has been locked out of the secret confines of the music industry but I have a feeling that won’t be for long. Hailing from Northern Virginia is a young cat by the name of Mr.Make Moves who I believe might be one of the artist out of this area to get a golden ticket to the mystical Wonka Factory.. Ryan, Mr. Make Moves, the younger brother of Jason (Jay) Fresh Kicks (the super producer/emcee) is a recent graduate from Radford University who is now putting his knowledge to work. The C.E.O of Make Moves Entertainment is not only a young mogul as well as a emcee, but he also produces tracks and writes songs as well. Go In Season is his latest project to be released to the public as of a few weeks ago hosted by none other then…..US! And mixed by the infamous DJ Eskada. I just want to take this time to say that VERY FEW OF YOU ARTIST do a mixtape right. This Mixtape has the character of a winner; probably one of the few mixtapes that I could actually stand to listen all the way through. Im gonna go head and point out certain tracks that you NEED to listen to off of this tape.

  1. Intro Track.
  2. Movin’ Come & Get Me
  3. Unstoppable
  4. Goin’ In
  5. Watch Me
  6. Outta Here
  7. Feelings Start to Reappear (Shouts to J Croz)

By no means does this mean to discredit the rest of the mixtape, this is just a list of OUR FAVES off the tape, but there something to love for urrrybody. (shit especially DJESKADA sexy ass voice, lls)

All in all this is a great tape. We give it a 3 out of 5

Make sure you click on the Album Artwork to download the mixtape, please pass it on and show your support for Ryan by commenting here and sharing with him what you thought of his tape.

JFK Presents: The HOLLAday 2
May 2010 30

When it comes to the DMV, its DC, MD…. where the fuck is VA?! Well readers i’m here to tell you its official, we’re changing all of that. For a while now we’ve been running most of your fave artist’s careers in the background and now we’re taking over the music scene with unique artist from VA. Today I bring you the HOLLAday 2 from Hollafame, a boutique record label hailing from Woodbridge, No. Virginia. The HOLLAday 2 is a refreshing take on the first release some four years ago. The tape is solely produced by the mogul of Hollafame Music, Jay Fresh Kicks, a young super producer who has taken a hiatus from the lime light to put on for his area (exspecially Virginia). HOLLAday 2 features artist such as Hunit Grand, Nike Nando, Badio, RatheMC, a dope as female group called Where’s Leslie, amongst JFK. Tracks we think you should listen to:

  1. Chillin’ Out ft. Badio
  2. She’s Watchin’ ft. JFK
  3. Coming To The Stage ft. RatheMC
  4. Kiss the Sky ft. Badio (produced by Trak Girl)
  5. Super Sexy ft. Hunit Grand, Jarvis
  6. Band Practice ft. Nando
  7. Make It ft. Where’s Leslie
  8. Me V. Myself ft. JFK

This tape was incredible, but you shouldnt expect anything less then so from JFK. He is focused on what he’s trying to do thus good music comes from it. Make sure you download it by clicking the album artwork here. We give it a 4 out of 5 rating

Leave your comments to let us and Jay know what the fuck your thoughts are on this project.
